WINS Q1 IN SWEDEN
Sebastien Loeb was quickest in Q1 at the World RX of Sweden,
round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented
by Monster Energy.
Team Peugeot-Hansen driver claimed the hole shot to the
first corner in race four and led for all four laps to
set the quickest time. “Everything went perfectly,” he
said. “I made a good start and the car had a good balance.
I had a clear run to win, it’s a promising start.” World
RX Championship leader Johan Kristoffersson was second
quickest, the Swede passing OlsbergsMSE’s Oliver Eriksson
for the lead after being forced wide into the gravel trap
on the outside of turn one.
Andreas Bakkerud and Petter Solberg battled throughout
the first race of the weekend. Bakkered made the best
start and claimed the hole shot, Solberg took his joker
on lap two but Bakkerud took his joker on lap three and
maintained track position. Bakkerud was third and Solberg
fourth. Finland’s Niclas Gronholm passed countryman Topi
Heikkinen for the lead of race five and was fifth fastest.
America’s Ken Block was sixth.
Q1 in the FIA World Rallycross Championship for Supercar,
Norway’s Thomas Bryntesson was quickest, Sweden’s Peter
Hedstrom was second and Sweden’s Anton Marklund was third.
After Q3 in the RX2 International Series, France’s Cyril
Raymond holds the TQ (top qualifier) position. Russia’s
Timur Shigaboutdoniv is top qualifier in the FIA European
Rallycross Championship for Super1600 after Q4.
